That's the gap we wanted to close. Naming a pet is a genuinely meaningful moment — it's the first decision you make about who this animal is going to be in your life. It deserves better than a spreadsheet.
Pet Name Party is a five-question quiz that takes about 15 seconds. You tell us what kind of pet you have, how you'd describe their personality, what kind of name energy you're drawn to, and a couple of quick preferences. Then we generate a personalised shortlist of names — each one with a reason explaining exactly why it fits your pet.
That "why it fits" detail is the core of the product. A name isn't just a sound — it's a statement. Bandit says something different than Biscuit, even if both are short and easy to call across a park. We wanted users to walk away not just with a name, but with a story they could tell about it.

We designed Pet Name Party specifically for new pet owners — the window right after adoption or purchase when the excitement is high, the name hasn't been decided yet, and you want something that feels right rather than just convenient. It's also genuinely fun to use even if you're not naming a pet right now. We've had plenty of testers play through it just to see what names come up for a hypothetical chaotic mischievous cat.
The app works for dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, hamsters, and other pets. Name suggestions span six core vibes — cute, bold, fancy, food-inspired, funny, and unique — with blended pools of human names, literary and author-inspired names, vintage classics, and international names woven in depending on your preferences.
Pet Name Party is completely free to use. No account required, no upsells. We store your shortlist locally in your browser so your saved names are there when you come back, without any data leaving your device.
This is the first product from JuMu LLC, and it reflects how we approach building: start with a real moment of friction in someone's life, design an experience that removes that friction with care, and ship something that's genuinely delightful to use. Pet Name Party is small in scope but big in intention — and we're just getting started.
